Finland’s government leads world in women legislators

On April 19, the Independent reported that 60% of the Finnish Cabinet positions were now held by women, making Finland the most female-controlled government in the world. Tarja Halonen, Finland's female president who was elected in 2000, has just confirmed 12 female appointees to take their place amongst the country's 20 top advisory positions last Thursday. Finland also set a new national record after this year's March elections, which resulted in women winning 84 of their 200 Parliamentary seats as well. Onnittelu to Finland!
