Democratic Presidential Candidates Hold LGBT Debate

Democratic candidates taking a shot at the presidency next year held a debate sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign and broadcasted by LOGO specifically focused on LGBTI issues. Among the topics were the military's "Don't Ask Don't Tell", same sex marriage, unifying the divisions of the country, homophobia, religion and civil rights. Barack Obama, Bill Richardson, Dennis Kucinich, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and Mike Gravel participated. The debate panelists were HRC President Joe Solmonese, singer Melissa Etheridge and columnist Jonathan Capehart from the Washington Post. It was moderated by journalist Margaret Carlson. One interesting little note: of all the candidates, only Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich completely support gay marriage.
