In this week’s stories, the vote to override President Bushs Health Insurance Program expansion is planned for October 18. Women protest Wal-mart’s selling of sexual harassment tee shirts as well as reporting on a study done by Catalyst that companies with women on their board of directors perform financially better. 140 male contraception researchers got together in Seattle for the “Future of Male Contraception” conference, discussing a number of viable male contraceptive options. Also, we report on growing evidence that shows that getting and keeping young people in school, particularly girls, dramatically lowers their vulnerability to HIV, as well as other stories.
